Kammac, a third-party logistics provider, has expanded its e-commerce fulfilment team.
Over the past year, the company has welcomed 30 new e-commerce clients and recruited five new team members, along with internal promotions.
Operating from Kammac’s Skelmersdale headquarters, the team now includes diverse roles aimed at improving service capabilities. Alec Hunt, promoted to Director of E-commerce and Value-Added Services, will lead project management, provide strategic direction on innovation, and focus on digitalisation.
The team aims to optimise logistics and efficiency by streamlining order processes and enhancing customer service. New roles such as Network Development and Operations Support Managers, Junior Project Managers, and Systems & Implementation Coordinators are pitched as being crucial for implementing innovative solutions.
Additionally, Kammac has introduced two new departments focused on project management and operational onboarding support, designed to improve collaboration and accelerate response times.
Hunt says: “This growth marks an exciting new chapter for Kammac and its customers. By bringing together a highly skilled, cross-trained team, we’re refining our internal efficiency and improving our client service. Our goals are ambitious, but Kammac has never been in a stronger position to achieve them.”
Kammac’s e-commerce service is its largest growth area, having shipped 2.5 million units through 2024 - a 160% increase from the previous year. The company aims to grow this to eight million units by the end of 2025, with automation and mechanisation as primary objectives.
The newly appointed Project and Solution Design Manager, Gary Randell, will play a vital role in these initiatives, leveraging his experience with major UK retailers and logistics firms.
With over 25 years in the distribution sector, Randell brings expertise in operational management, regulatory compliance, contract negotiation, data warehousing, and warehouse management systems. His knowledge will be critical in implementing automation solutions to enhance efficiency and reduce costs
